Elite London Taxi's owner
Dave Hurd used to run a small fleet of FX4 Plus, Fairway and Fairway Driver
taxis in London but after deciding in 2003 that being a taxi proprietor wasn't
for him he decided to sell the taxis instead! There were all of the usual options
available but nowhere on the internet, so he decided to set up a website and 'Elite
London Taxis' was born. He got a young local designer to write a single page
website and within a few months had made his first sale, an FX4 Plus taxi was sold
to a couple from Belgium! In 2006 the company moved to a small office in Woodford
which was home until August 2009 when the company moved again into spacious new
garage/office premises in Hainault, Essex.

also makes a spacious and quirky family run-around and are very manoeuvrable and

else is more practical? We have also sold many taxis to artists and musicians who
apreciate the large passenger area. And as to safety, in most accidents the
London cab is going to come off best due to its rigid chassis and solid
construction.
Servicing & Taxi Parts
Due to the very competitive nature
of the taxi maintenance market, service items for taxis are very cheap. Typically a
set of filters will cost less than £25.00. Brake parts and body panels are also
relatively cheap and don't forget that the body panels bolt on and off making for
cheaper repairs. Through our sister site at: www.taxi-mart.co.uk we can supply many spare
parts for your taxi at very reasonable rates. We supply pattern parts and also new
parts from the main dealers. Please e-mail with your requirements.
How We Sell our Taxis
We have a very high turnover of
vehicles (sometimes 3 a week) and are generally repairing/restoring around 3-4
taxis at any one time. We also try to buy taxis that are still plated
(licensed for London' or taxis that have only recently 'come off plate'.
We never, ever, have vehicles sitting around in the open waiting for sale!!
This means that we basically fix up taxis to order.
