Carbodies FX4S Taxi. 2.2 Austin engine, 3 speed auto gearbox. No power steering. These taxis have all but disapeared from Londons streets. No frills and a very basic interior and are really getting on a bit now.
Carbodies FX4R 'Plus' Taxi. 2.5 Rover engine, 3 speed auto gearbox, power steering. This is the basic model London taxi. There are still quite a few of these old smokers about, but probably not for long. Watch out for worn piston rings and rusty sills.
	LTI Fairway Taxi. 2.7 Nissan engine, 3 speed auto gearbox with overdrive. Power steering, electric door mirrors, central locking. Drum brakes front and rear. This is an updated version of the 'Plus'. There are still thousands of these taxis plying for hire on the streets of London. It was named in relation to the London cabbies favourite sport - golf!
LTI Fairway 'Driver' Taxi. As above but with updated windscreen wipers, updated suspension and disc brakes at the front. This model was built up until the introduction of the TXI in 1998.
	A grey FX4 'Plus'. I found this cab at a South London garage. It was in all honesty an awful colour. Ron Wengraf finally sold it for me in Paris!
